Introduction
Hello and welcome!
This lesson focuses on the groups who are most vulnerable in a BVD Ebola outbreak: children, pregnant women, and survivors.
As a community health worker, you play a critical role in making sure these groups receive care without delay — and that misinformation does not stop families from acting.
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Recognise BVD symptoms in children and know what caregivers must do.
- Explain the caregiver companion policy — a parent CAN stay with a young child at the treatment centre.
- Know the specific messages for pregnant women with BVD symptoms.
- Understand how to support survivor reintegration and counter stigma in your community.
