Contact Monitoring — What it means and why it matters
If you are identified as a close contact of someone with BVD, health teams will monitor your health for 21 days from your last contact with the sick person.
During monitoring:
• Accept health team visits — at least twice a day👨🏿⚕️.
• Provide accurate information and answer all questions honestly.
• Avoid travel 🚗 unless approved by the health team.
• Report ANY symptom IMMEDIATELY — visit nearest health facility, do not wait for the next scheduled health team visit.
• If your household needs food, water, or other support — tell the health team. Support is available 🫶.
Being identified as a contact does NOT mean you are sick. Contact monitoring is a protective measure — for you and for everyone around you.
