Are there any signs I should look out for?

Parents must remember that not all children are the same, and if unsure your 5 years old child is making progress, ask for advice should you repeatedly observe the following:

  • Does not show a wide range of emotions
  • Shows extreme behaviours
  • Unusually withdrawn and not active
  • Easily distracted and unable to focus on one activity for 5 minutes
  • Does not respond to people
  • Cannot tell what’s real and what’s not
  • Does not play a variety of games and activities
  • Cannot give first and last name
  • Does not use plurals and past tense properly
  • Does not talk about daily activities or experiences
  • Does not draw pictures
  • Cannot brush teeth, wash & dry hands or get undressed without help
