Thinking, learning & problem-solving

At age five children may have attended pre-school and have been exposed to an array of tangible and fun activities, with which they develop skills in understanding the world, and also begin learning letters and numbers.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • At age 5 children understand simple concepts of time and simple classifications

  • 5 years old are much better at seeing others’ viewpoint and this helps them make friends

  • They recognise words by sight and some even try to ‘read’

  • They count up to 10 or more elements

  • A 5 years old can draw a person with at least 6 body parts

  • Write some letters or numbers

  • Copy a triangle, square/rectangle and circle

  • Know about the everyday of money and food
