Support co creation of cholera prevention materials in schools and training of teachers and students.
Advocate for including Water Sanitation and Hygiene and Infection Prevention and Control supplies and interventions in schools. - WASH IPC.
Advocate for the distribution of handwashing soap, water filters or liquid chlorine in schools when available (including contingency stock – prepositioning and replenishing essential cholera supplies for schools).
Make sure your community understands the basic facts around cholera, by organising interactives dialogues, session of Q&As and other bilateral Communication initiatives.
Encourage children to share information on cholera with their families, friends and neighbours and to encourage people who become sick to go to a health facility.
Carry out with students targeted hygiene promotion interventions in schools and surrounding communities.
Promote early health-seeking behaviour among learners and all stakeholders at the school.
